339 days ago we launched Bbb. For those of you that know any of us behind the scenes, you’ll know that it was somewhat of a struggle. Bbb is run for free and developed voluntarily, although with some professional tech support.
I think it is fair to say that when we started, the dream was bigger than the capability. With full time jobs, our own blogs, families and commitments, finding the appropriate time to commit has been a little bit harder than we anticipated. That said, as we near our one-year anniversary, we have a number of achievements that we are proud of,
– Traffic has been growing steadily and this autumn we had to move to new servers to ensure that we didn’t slow to snail’s pace
– The iPhone app is up and running with a new version launched late last year with additional functionality
– We’ve seen Tobias Grubbe C18th Man of Letters join our ranks with a weekly satirical cartoon
And this week, we hit our 100th blog!
Not bad from a standing start and particularly we are pleased to see blogs coming from fields that we were initially underrepresented in. So word is spreading, which has to be a good thing.
As we reach this milestone in our journey, we wanted to express a huge thank you to everyone that has supported us, the 100 blog writers and of course the blog readers without whom, none of us would exist. We’re hoping after a quiet first year, we will be more proactive in the second and are already working on some plans.
